I usually share a “Video of the Week” on this blog every Friday, plus a few other videos here and there when I just can’t wait until Friday to post. Yesterday, I shared the ten most popular posts from 2012; here are the five most popular videos posted on this blog from 2012:

List of Helpful Web Resources in Wake of Newtown, Connecticut Shootings

More than a few preachers, bloggers, and thinkers have weighed in with thoughts on the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT last Friday. As happens with the onslaught of coverage that follows such a high profile tragedy, some of the responses are better than others. Here are a handful of responses that have helped me in the past week as a pastor and as a dad:

Jim Burns – Violence on Campus: Helping Your Kids Cope with Tragedy

“In this information age – and with all of the media coverage, it’s likely that only the youngest of children are sheltered from seeing or hearing information following tragic events like this one. Video of the Week: Advent Conspiracy

I’m pretty sure I shared this video last Advent, too. It’s just too good not to share again:

By the way, if you’ve never checked out Epipheo Studio’s YouTube channel, they’ve got a lot of fun and thoughtful videos.

Video of the Week: Faith Story and Small Group Promo

We showed this in church this past Sunday, and I loved it. It’s the story of an Army vet who was injured in the Middle East and his wife. We used it as a way to highlight GO Groups (what we call small groups) at our church and encourage people to get in a group. Check it out:

Video of the Week: Anthony Starego, Autistic Kicker

This is the incredible story done by ESPN’s College GameDay of Anthony Starego, an autistic kicker for Brick Township High School in Brick Township, New Jersey. Check it out:

Video of the Week: Stuff Youth Pastors Say

My friend and co-worker Chad sent this to me last week. I cringed because I see myself in at least half of the clips. Enjoy!

Video of the Week: Church Family Smart Bar (D6 Conference)

Loved this video from the D6 Conference (which I would love to attend sometime; if you went this year, I’d love to hear about your experience). It’s hilarious, but sad, too–there’s a lot of truth in it.
